Traveling south, it is important for people to visit Paris. This historic metropolis is where old meets new. Locations such as the Louvre and the Arc de Triumph offer a view into the past. Traveling further, we arrive in Germany. North Germany offers many modern day sites and attractions, such as night clubs and discos, a favorite of anyone interested in the night life. When traveling south through the country, you will find yourself in the Black Forest, a beautiful and ancient expanse of trees going as far as the eye can see. Castles and tradition can be found here, not to mention everyone’s favorite German dishes.
Now that you have traveled through Europe, it is finally time to reach your destination of Italy. The fashion capital of the world, Milan, is an excellent stop for people interested in modern Italian living. Traveling south we may stumble upon beautiful views of the Mediterranean sea sparkling as far as the eye can see. Vineyards dot the landscape and farms that have been held in families for hundreds of years can be seen everywhere.
Rome is often the destination for people looking to view the ancient world. Throughout the city there are old buildings that date back to the time of the Roman Emperors and the games of the Gladiators. Vatican City, the Christian capital of the world, can be visited and excellent works by Michelangelo in the Sistine Chapel are there for everyone to view and enjoy.
Traveling further south, we reach the city of Naples. This city has its roots in history just as much as Rome. Narrow streets and old buildings give visitors a sense of history as they walk through them. Family style bistros and cafes also offer a comfortable atmosphere for anyone who wants a quick cup of coffee or a pastry.
On your way south from Naples, you can visit the ancient city of Pompeii, which is shadowed by the volcano Vesuvius. Many years ago, this volcano covered the village in a pile of ash. Pompeii was only discovered a few years ago, and it has been a tourist and history enthusiasts destination ever since.
The island of Sicily has also been a destination that many choose to go to on their vacations and holidays to Italy. Because it is an island, Mediterranean breezes offer a cool relief from the hot Italian sun. Many vineyards and traditional restaurants on the island offer tourists traditional Sicilian cuisine, a type of cooking that has been replicated throughout the world because of its flavor.
Italy is an excellent destination for any vacation or holiday. Keep in mind however, that Italy is only one destination of many that should be visited on a European vacation.
