Milan Italy

Dec 9, 12:19 PM

Milan is a cosmopolitan city of the first order. Among other museums here, don’t miss the Cenacolo Vinciano, where you can view Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper.

Other landmarks include the famous La Scala theatre and Sforza castle in the central city, a symbol of Milan’s growth during the Renaissance. The Cathedral of Milan is a major work of Gothic architecture.

The church of Santa Maria delle Grazie holds works by both Da Vinci and Bramante. In addition to art and architecture, of course, Milan is famous for fashion and shopping in all price ranges and tastes.

Speaking of taste, be sure to try the famous saffron risotto, which according to legend was invented during the construction of the Cathedral by a Dutch glass worker who used saffron to color stained glass-and decided it might work in rice, too.
