The famous Leaning Tower in Pisa is actually part of a four-piece group of architectural masterpieces in white marble in the Campo dei Miracoli, or “Field of Miracles.”

The tower does more than lean: it’s the bell tower for an equally impressive medieval cathedral, the Duomo Santa Maria, which mixes Moorish, Byzantine, and Romanesque architecture.

The Camposanto, a monumental graveyard, has frescoed walls and according to legend contains soil brought from the Holy Lands during the Crusades.
